Connecting with your audience – quick tip 1
You have written terrific content for your web site. You have given your readers information on your product or service that will resonate with your readers. Everyone will relate to the information –or not.
In writing that perfect web content you have added terminology and usage that only the most advanced users would understand. Were those the users you wrote for?
When you start to write one of the first things to do is to determine who you are targeting the information for. If you are writing for prospective customers, draw them in and introduce them with an overview to your product or service. Use terminology sparingly—at least only the essential terms.
Think about what a new person to your web site would need to know to learn about what it is you do or the product you have to offer.
- Determine who you are writing for
- Keep to the basics when you are introducing your topic
- Where terminology is key – define within your content
- Think about what your new customers ask you and target that information for your web site
